Instructions
1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until combined—do not overmix.
4. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
5. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter.
6. Pour small rounds of batter (about 2 tablespoons each) onto the skillet.
7. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges start to set, about 1–2 minutes.
8. Flip and cook the other side for another 1–2 minutes, until golden brown.
9. Transfer to a plate and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter.
10. Sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar or serve warm with maple syrup or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
