Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a large baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook macaroni for 1 minute less than the package instructions (it will continue cooking in the oven). Drain and set aside.
3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until lightly golden.
4. Gradually add the milk and cream, whisking continuously until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth.
5. Stir in the paprika, mustard powder, salt, and black pepper.
6. Remove from heat and add 2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, 3/4 cup mozzarella, and all the Parmesan. Stir until melted and creamy.
7. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until evenly coated.
8. Pour the cheesy pasta into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
9. Combine the remaining cheddar and mozzarella and sprinkle over the top.
10. In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle over the cheese layer.
11. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
12. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
