Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
3. Pour in the buttermilk and stir gently until a thick batter forms. Do not overmix.
4. Pour the melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish or similar-sized pan.
5. Carefully spoon the biscuit batter directly over the butter. The butter will rise around the dough — that’s what gives these biscuits their amazing flavor and texture.
6. Spread the batter evenly in the pan, ensuring the butter remains underneath and around the edges.
7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the butter is bubbling along the sides.
