Homemade Pita Bread

Soft, pillowy, and golden-brown, these homemade pita breads are incredibly easy to make and far superior to store-bought versions. Perfect for wraps, dipping, or serving alongside your favorite Mediterranean dishes, they’re best enjoyed fresh and warm from the pan.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup warm milk

For Cooking:

  • Vegetable oil or olive oil for brushing
  • Butter for brushing (optional)
