Ingredients

  • 2 large yellow onions
  • 4-5 tablespoons vegetable oil, butter, or bacon grease
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (optional, for finishing)

Instructions

Wash and scrub potatoes thoroughly. You can peel them for a cleaner look or leave skins on for extra texture and nutrients. Cut potatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices or 1/2-inch cubes, keeping pieces uniform for even cooking.

Step 2: Parboil for Perfect Texture

Step 3: Slice the Onions
